Following the 2018 drought-affected harvest, the group of potato producers in North-West Europe notes a lack of seedlings in Europe.

According to the producer group, some farmers who have not signed a supply contract may find it impossible to plant their land. Varieties that can be used for consumption and industry will probably be reoriented towards processing in order to secure the supply of plants.
