The potato market has a use beyond the culinary. In addition, its use in the textile industry is also experiencing significant growth especially in countries such as China and India, so potato producers and buyers have a big market to target.

Thanks to the starch of the potato, textile gluing can be produced and the properties of the starch can be adjusted to various requirements. Its use is also interesting as a gelling agent that can replace materials such as gelatine and common starch.

This “ecological” alternative has as its weak point changes in potato prices due to climatic changes that have affected the crop. These climatic irregularities, which have caused torrential rains and dry spells this year, have caused the price of potatoes to vary continuously.
